Widely known for their high schools, colleges,

and universities.

To work with the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius

Loyola in ways both traditional and innovative.

Started in the 1700s when Pope Clement XIV sent the French

Jesuits over to Louisiana.

Came over hoping to preach the Gospel to the native Americans and spread the good word.

Charism came when they decided to make schools during the civil

war to help young children not have to look upon such violence.

Also yellow fever killed a lot of people and they needed more people to spread God's word so they spread the word to join this province of God.

Developed a few colleges so that the young men could dive further

into their faith.

Have been able to spread the Charism through Chicago, Detroit and Wisconsin where there colleges are.

What this group provides to the world today is religious education.

They help by providing proper education among kids.

They have many parishes, high schools, and universities that were founded by this organization; such as Loyola University in New Orleans, and many other high schools and parishes throughout the southern part of the US.

Their main focus is advancing education.

They have other priorities that they have set for themselves also such as to serve the poor, educate, to collaborate and work together with lay people, and to develop leaders for the Church and out society.
