and the future National Constituent Assembly.

In the summer of 1791, the French National Assembly began the process of drafting a constitution.
The Declaration of the Rights of man was adopted on August 26, 1791
WHEN?
Commons Meeting
on 26 August 1789 eventually became the preamble of the
constitution adopted on 3 September 1791.
It was the first written constitution in France, created by the French National Assembly after the
collapse of the absolute monarchy in France.
A twelve member Constitutional Committee was convened on 14 July 1789
Nobels and Clergymen joined the third estate to make the National Assembly on June 17th 1791
French Constitution of 1791
Its task was to do much of the drafting of the articles of the constitution. It
included originally two members from the First Estate; two from the Second and four from the Third.
