our opinion was that the story was decent. we feel like there could have been more details throughout the story, but the author did a good job making everything flow together in a weird way.

Setting
- There is a shoe maker named Feld with an Assistant named Sobel at the beginning of the story.
- Feld wants a college boy named Max to marry his daughter Miriam.
- Sobel gets angry and breaks things then runs out of the shop.
- Feld gets max to talk to his daughter.
- Max and Miriam go on two dates.
- it doesn't work out between them.
- Feld tells Sobel he has to wait two years before he can be with Miriam.
