The race that changed it all
- No single human should be questioned about their gender
- " The microscopic details wont change the opinions of those who will loo for a reason, and reason to remover her from the track. The world has no right to view her as a human lab specimen on a glass slide."
Renee' Richards
The race that changed it all
In this race Semenya made her biggest improvement and shocked the world.
This is where all her troubles began...
- In 1976 transgender tennis player Renee Richards was put in the spotlight when she wanted to compete in the U.S open.
- She entered the open singles division but was denied entry when a rule was changed on purpose to prevent her from playing.
- People created the rumor that she was transgender, and because of that she would be at an advantage when playing other females
- Renee went through sex reassignment surgery at a young age.
- "Growing up I knew that I was a girl all along"
- Richards should not have been denied entry because after surgery she was clearly a woman, in no way was she trying to cheat.
