How Did Destra Get Her Start?
- In 1999, Roy Cape All-Stars took notice of her single titled - Ah Have A Man Already and invited her to join the Roy Cape All-Stars Band as one of the lead vocalists.
- In 2002 Destra left to pursue a solo career, and in 2003 she released her first album Red, White, Black which included her hit duet "It's Carnival" with fellow Soca artist Machel Montano
- After her first album was release, Destra was on her way to becoming an international superstar.

Why Did I Choose Destra Garcia?
- Throughout her lifetime, Destra has not had any struggles in her lifetime, she truly was blessed.
- Destra has shared the stage with many superstars like: Shaggy, Ja-Rule, Rihanna, Mary J Blige, Patti La Belle, Natalie Cole, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé, just to name a few.
- Destra has won countless awards such as: Songwriter of the year 6 consecutive years, song of the year, and best international act.
- I chose Destra Garica because she represents Trinidad and Tobago.
- I wanted to showcase a culture thats apart of me.
- Every since I was little I feel in love with idea of Carnival.
