He realizes then that he needs to make the most of his opportunity and continue with military school. He works hard everyday and ended up ranking very high among his classmates. In this moment we realize that Wes is going to succeed in his life, and he has won the societal and inner conflicts that occur throughout the book.

The falling action of Wes' life makes us feel the same. The falling action of Wes' life is very similar to this. Wes moved many times in his childhood, forcing him to change schools and friends often. Started to care less about school and more about activities like basketball and music. While doing graffiti, he had an encounter with the police. All of these events lead to his mother's decision to send him to Valley Forge Military Academy.

Wes' decision to make a change in the world for young boys like him and the other Wes, resolves his story. At this point you can see how Wes' story will end up, with all certainty. You no longer question if Wes will turn his life around with another bad decision.

The song "Hall of Fame" talks about how someone can change the world and be remembered for all of the great things that they do. Similar to the falling action, We see how Wes has accomplished many great thigs, and we wish to accomplish just as many. We feel hopeful for all to come. In "Hall of Fame", the singer lists off occupations that are of great accomplishment. We can then connect the aaccomplishments to what we want to do with our lives, leaving us excited. that the future will also bring good thiungs.

In "All my life" it refers to searching for something, but nothing can quite satisfy their needs, getting closer and closer to the prize. "All my life" makes us want find our purpose in life and leaves us feeling a little lost. If you don't know what your purpose in life, this song speaks to you to help motivate us to figure out our future. . Wes can relate to that, because he too is searching for something that he can't quite find. He is looking for something to do with his life, and is feeling very lost. He is starting to mativate himself to change his life, but hasn't quite realized that he needs to make that change very quickly.

Exposition

The exposition of the author's life in The Other Wes Moore occurs when Wes' father dies. This begins Wes' life with a tragedy, and explains to us where his journey began. In this section we are also introduced to the other characters that are important in Wes' life, including his family.

The Other Wes Moore #2

"Had a Bad Day" is about having a rough time and having to get over it quickly, so that you can carry on with your day. The song gives us a feeling perseverance, and empowers us to get over the bad things in life, and focus on the future. In the exposition of Wes' life, his father dies. Although he does not quite understand what was happening at the time, he knew that it was a tragic event, that he had to mourn, but not dwell on. He leaves his past behind and struggles to carry on in the future. He had a bad thing happen to him and was forced to get over it and live the rest of his life the best that he could. We began to feel as though Wes is going to allow himself to have a bright future, and move on past the hard times in ihs life.

When Wes shot the man and was sent to prison for a short period of time, we began to realize that Wes' life was going to be ruined forever if he kept making such horrible decisions .He had lost his battle with his inner and societal conflict. He attempts to better himself by going to rehabilitation program, but the attempt fails, and he is left with bad decisions and regret.

When listening to "What I've Done" by Linkin Park we feel bad for the singer that allowed himslef to ruin his life and a chance for a good future. We experience similar feelings when Wes leaves the job center, and is thrown back into a life of drugs and violence. As the character experiences regret, we are filled with sorrow, because we now know that wes is not going to have a succesful future.

"What I've Done" -Linkin Park

Falling Action

After attempting rehabilitation, as well as becoming a petter person overall, something switches causing Wes to revert back to his old troublesome ways. A police reprt comes into the news station that a local jewelery store had been robbed and a police officer was shot and killed. A case was launched to find the suspects. After running for days, Wes and Tony were caught and it was onfirmed that the two had commited the crime.

Rising Action

The song talks about a man wo grows up trying to stay away from the bad lifestyle of his family, but realizes that he needs money, and the quickest way for him to get it is by robbing people. this is similar to the way that Wes wants to leave the bad life that he was living, but missed the rush and was convinced to do it again. He converts to his old ways and robs a jewelery store causing him to go jail for the rest of his life. We feel more sorrow for the characters of the song and the book, because they have gone past the point of return. They embarked on a journey of bad decisions and are only now seeing the consequences. The readers/listeners wish that the characters could go back ad change their fate, but at this point it is no longer possible.

"Had a Bad Day" -Daniel Powter

While Wes is growing up, he faces many challenges with drugs, his family, and his friends. His older brother Tony, who is a drug dealer, influences his life greatly. One day Wes' mother comes home and found the drgs that Wes was selling. She came to the shocking realizaation that not one, but two of her children are drug dealers. Wes continues to get into trouble during his childhood and teenage years. No matter how hard he tries, Wes continuously goes back to his troublesome path.

"Happy little pill" represents how drugs and addiction ca take hold of your life, and it can be the only thing that you ever think about.when listening to this song, it gives us a sense of hopelessness for the singer. We realize that the addiction is going to be very hard to beat and that it will be a difficult journey ahead. For Wes, he is not addicted to drugs themselves, but he is addicted to what comes from them. Wes is trapped in the cycle of drug dealing, and we are again left with a sad, hopeless feeling.

After the jewely store robbery, Wes claimed he was innocent, and not involved in the shooting, but the jury found him guilty. Wes has spent the remainder of his life in the Jessup Correctional Institution with Tony and the other two defendents. Wes' family visits occasionally, but it hurts him not to have any control of what hapens in the outside world. This further proves that Wes has lost his battle and his fate is sealed. He no longer has a say in what happens to him.

Wes' life is stuck in reverse, he is constantly moving backwards in life. He is now stuck in jail, and has lost the chance of a good life, that he can never get back. He is forced to love his children from afar, he is wasting away in a cell and has lost the ability to be a true father. No matter how many people tried to help him and fix him, as it says in the song, he still ended up losing something that he can't replace: his freedom. We feel mournful for Wes as well as the subject of the song. Neither of the characters have any hope for a better future, leaving us pset, wishing they had done more.

"Fix you" -Coldplay

Exposition

Wes' life started off very rough. His father left him when he was just a baby, his older brother was barely home, and his mother was very young. Despite his lack of a father, Wes was very close with his dad's parents. Wes had never met his father until one day at his grandparent's house. Wes saw his father and was taken aback at his horrible drunken state. With the knowledge of Wes' past in mind, Wes' brother, Tony pushed Wes to be the best he could be and stay out of trouble. Tony wanted Wes to fight for himself and live a good life unlike Tony had. Unfortunately for both, thaat didn't happen.

Wes grew up with a hard life. His parents were not around very much, causing him to be cared for by his grandparents for a portion of his life. We feel sad for Wes during this time, because it seems as though he will never get out of his bad life. We feel the same way when listtening to "It's a Hard Knock Life". Annie is left by her parents in a horrible orphanage, making the listener feel sympathy and sorrow for Annie and her fellow orphans.
