Fashion.

Both Sparta and Athens

believed in many gods who

rule and control everything

around them.

The two city-states both wore very similar

clothes.

Religion

there are many songs,

poems, and art that the

Spartans and Athens made

to represent their gods.

Education

Spartan education starts when you're seven and doesn't end until you're thirty. It is very intense.

Athenian boys and girls at a young age were taught at home, and when a boy turns six he sent to school, but the girls stayed at home and began learning how to be a stay-at-home mom.

PELOPONNESIAN WAR

Where the ladies at?

At a young

age for the Spartan

women, they learn how to

be just as strong as the boys and

were just as educated as the men were. But for the Athenien women, they were a whole different class. They learned how to cook and clean. The women could not vote just as the children could not either.

The Athens were known for a big word we use today, Democracy. Democracy was ahuge success for the Athens and along with that and their beautiful art, made them very powerful and well known.

The Spartans and Athenians were both great city-states with growing power. It was only a matter of time before the two great armies clashed heads. Between 431-404 BC we found out that Sparta has the bigger spear.

Another similarity between the two major cities is that they both had slaves. and would often trade them and fight them in the Colosseum. And the slaves would most of the labor in the city and in their farms.

  • Sparta had two kings and a council of elders.
  • the two kings were in charge of the military
  • Athens had a citizen assembly and all the males would vote on disscusions.
  • But not everyone in Athens could come to the assemblies and vote. ..

both the Athens and the Spartans had art in their time. Most people think that the Spartans only think about blood and war, but researchers have found beautiful art in Sparta as well as in Athens.
