Fibroblastic repair

  • fibroblastic repair is a cell of connective tissue which produces fibers such as collegen and elastic fibres, which maintain structure in different types of body tissues.
  • After an injury scar tissue will help the remodelling process of the restoring tissue resulting in your body being able to return back to the origanal state but just leaving a minor change. This is so that your body is fully protected from infections and disease.
  • But if the injury is more severe the more diffucult it will be to return to its origanal state - such as a second or third degree sprains which will be harder to return to its origanal state and the responses to the injury will be more pronounced.
  • fibroblastic repair occurs within the first few hours of injury, but takes weeks or months to fully repair, this is because the capillary network which needs to be renewed because it has been ruptured when the injury occured.
  • This is important because then it enables there to be a good oxygen and nutrient supply making the process of repair quicker and reduces the chances of infections. after the repar of the capillary network the Granulation tissue starts to form, this process contains type III collegen which randomly deposits within the tissue this gives the wounded tissue more strength when it heals.
