Hello,
- 00:01 - 00:06
my name is Candice Copeland and this is a presentation on integration frameworks.
- 00:08 - 00:10
Lodi levels of teaching in
- 00:10 - 00:11
intervention
- 00:12 - 00:14
are levels of
- 00:16 - 00:18
technology used in the classroom.
- 00:18 - 00:23
And it goes from Lodi zero which is no technology all the way to Lodi six,
- 00:23 - 00:25
which is where they're refining
- 00:25 - 00:28
their technological skills.
- 00:28 - 00:34
So Lodi Zero would be no technology at all. It would be pencils and paper
- 00:34 - 00:36
and textbooks.
- 00:36 - 00:40
Uh Lodi one is direct instruction.
- 00:40 - 00:44
So the teacher would be the one using the
- 00:44 - 00:45
technology
- 00:46 - 00:48
and then Lodi two would be supplements.
- 00:48 - 00:53
So there would be minimal technology involved in the students assignments
- 00:54 - 00:55
in class work.
- 00:55 - 00:59
And then you get, when you get to Lodi four, that's where you get
- 00:59 - 01:03
uh integration. That's where you get real world.
- 01:03 - 01:04
Um techno
- 01:04 - 01:08
technology use, that's where you get authentic assignments.
- 01:08 - 01:12
And then when you get to Lodi six, that would be something like creating,
- 01:12 - 01:13
having them create their own website
- 01:20 - 01:20
tac
- 01:21 - 01:24
technological pedagogical content knowledge.
- 01:29 - 01:32
There are seven measured knowledges.
- 01:32 - 01:36
There are three main knowledges, content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge,
- 01:36 - 01:38
technological knowledge,
- 01:39 - 01:43
and all the rest are combinations of
- 01:43 - 01:45
content, not of these three.
- 01:45 - 01:49
So you would have pedagogical content knowledge, techno
- 01:49 - 01:55
logical content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, content,
- 01:55 - 02:01
pedagogical knowledge, technological pedagogical content knowledge.
- 02:01 - 02:08
So content knowledge is how well the teacher knows the content that is being
- 02:08 - 02:09
taught.
- 02:09 - 02:13
So if she was teaching math, it would be, how well does she know
- 02:13 - 02:17
the math pedagogical knowledge is how well she knows
- 02:19 - 02:25
best teaching practices. So this is, does she know the best ways to teach
- 02:25 - 02:26
the Children? Does she know
- 02:27 - 02:29
um the the science behind it?
- 02:29 - 02:33
And then technological knowledge would just be her knowing
- 02:35 - 02:36
the technology,
- 02:36 - 02:38
her being able to work the technology well enough that
- 02:38 - 02:42
she can teach somebody else to work the technology.
- 02:42 - 02:45
And these are very helpful for
- 02:45 - 02:51
a teacher that's wanting to know if she it what knowledge she needs to work on
- 02:51 - 02:52
to
- 02:52 - 02:54
help successfully
- 02:55 - 02:57
integrate her class into technology.
- 03:04 - 03:05
Then you have techno
- 03:06 - 03:09
technology integration planning or tip.
- 03:11 - 03:18
There are six phases of tip. Phase one is technological pedagogical knowledge
- 03:18 - 03:20
and this goes back to
- 03:21 - 03:21
tack.
- 03:21 - 03:23
So a lot of these are
- 03:24 - 03:25
with tack
- 03:25 - 03:29
and tip. A lot of these kind of go back and forth because
- 03:30 - 03:32
tack is the knowledge you need
- 03:32 - 03:33
and tip is
- 03:33 - 03:36
the process to put it into action.
- 03:37 - 03:39
So phase two would be
- 03:39 - 03:43
why use a technology based method in the classroom.
- 03:43 - 03:48
So you would ask, why do I need to use a technology based method?
- 03:49 - 03:53
Phase three is how will I know students have learned?
- 03:53 - 03:58
Phase four is what teaching strategies and activities work best.
- 03:59 - 04:02
Phase five is our essential conditions
- 04:02 - 04:05
in place to support technology integration.
- 04:05 - 04:10
So that would be, do I have what I need? Do I have, do I have the technology available?
- 04:10 - 04:14
Do I have the, the resources?
- 04:14 - 04:19
And then phase six is what w worked well and what can be approved?
- 04:19 - 04:23
So phase six is reflection. It's OK.
- 04:23 - 04:27
I've went through the process and now what's worked well, what can I do different?
- 04:29 - 04:32
Many of these concepts go
- 04:32 - 04:35
hand in hand from
- 04:35 - 04:37
tack, from tip
- 04:38 - 04:39
from,
- 04:41 - 04:44
they, they go together, one is the process
- 04:45 - 04:49
and one is the knowledge that you need to be successful.
- 04:50 - 04:53
Thank you so much for listening to my presentation
- 04:53 - 04:55
and I hope this was helpful.
