Industrial training is beneficial for students whereby it reveals that the program has significantly improved the personal attitude, communication skills and work attitude. Besides, industry training allows the student to refine their skills and knowledge through the training activities and projects given along the session. With today’s rapidly changing pace of the job market, employees also need to keep abreast of new knowledge and technology. It is heartening to note that many organizations value industrial placement as a way to train future employees and consider offering such training programs as their corporate social responsibility

The establishment of Perpustakaan Hamzah Sendut 1 (PHS 1) operated using borrowed premises at the Malayan Teacher’s Training College, Gelugor.

Moved to its own permanent campus at Minden, housed in old and heritage building (University’s Museum and Gallery)

Moved to its present location in three-storey building

1996

Perpustakaan Hamzah Sendut 2 (PHS 2) was built not far from the PHS 1 building.

2004

Main library was developed and named Hamzah Sendut Library taken after the name of the first USM Vice Chancellor, Tan Sri Hamzah Sendut.
