Synopsis
Synopsis- cont.
- Narrator describes some of Stephen's childhood memories (Simon reading a story, his parents and family/friends, wanting to marry Eileen): "When you wet the bed first it is warm then it gets cold. His mother put on the oilsheet. That had the queer smell."
- The speaker describes Stephen's experiences at Clongones Wells College: "He sat in a corner of the playroom..."
- Stephen begins to think of God
- He gets sick and Brother Micheal cares for him: "Dear Mother, I am sick. I want to go home. Please come and take me home. I am in the infirmary."
