According to US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), PM 2.5 is defined as ‘Particulate Matter’ that includes ‘dust, dirt, smoke and liquid droplets.

Threatens health by: Inhaled in to the respiratory system causing damages mostly to dysfunctions both lungs & the brain. (As previously mentioned)

PM. 2.5 = Particulate Matter 2.5 in diameter = Very fine particles that causes most damages to the lungs. Because of the small size (approximately 1/30th the average width of human hair) that sets deeply into the lungs.
