Solution For the problem
Effect of air pollution
The problem is still going on and people in Mexico City are trying to lower the amount of pollution. They’re trying their best like for example they banned all cars from the city once a week. They’re also trying to get more people to use bikes and public buses. People could also walk instead of driving everywhere unless it’s raining and they don’t have an umbrella. But Mexico City is a great place because of all of the parks and places to hang but more and more people move there each day so the president has to think of something to stop all of the pollutants. Mexico City is a big city and it is a big producer for Mexico that is one of the things that also pollutes the city. Something has to be done if they want to make Mexico City clean again. Like maybe fundraising but the people are trying in Mexico City and they might succeed but no one knows if it can go back to how it was before. When more and more people started moving to Mexico City, that immediately resulted in large numbers of vehicles to transport. There are around four million vehicles in Mexico City consuming 1.62 million liters of fuel each day.
Cause of air pollution
The city was affected the most by the rapid industrialization because it was changed from an agricultural place to such a busy and productive city. Then there’s the bad location because it’s right in the middle of Mexico and it’s surrounded by other states so you can’t really escape the pollution. Mexico is surrounded by mountains which traps the pollutants in the city and all of that keeps collecting each day. When it gets colder it gets worse because that cold air doesn’t let the pollutants disperse. And lastly there is the large numbers of vehicles. That pollutes the city even more because it’s releasing chemicals and gas into the air. That is very dangerous to newborns, kids, elderly's,etc. Because it could cause problems for their breathing and they could get sick and die. The air pollution in Mexico City causes 14,000 deaths a year. Right now the population in Mexico is 22 million, if people keep moving to Mexico City the pollution is going to get worse.
According the website /blog.nus.edu.sg/kylie it states that,"Mexico is one of the most polluted cities in the world and the air pollution has reportedly caused 14,000 deaths a year."
1. Rapid industrialization
2. Bad geographical location of the city
3. Large numbers of vehicles
Now: Mexico City is still a great place to visit and it is still the same just that the pollution has gotten worse because it is so populated. And the more populated it becomes, the more polluted it gets.
Before the environmental issue:
Mexico City was a very beautiful place before all of the air pollution. The city is still an amazing and beautiful place even though it has it’s one enormous flaw. It has many parks and two golf courses, it also has many places to tour and shop. It used to be more agricultural but it turned into a city with rapid industrialization
