As members of the Pilipino Undergraduate Society for Health (PUSH), we believe in the academic empowerment of Pilipino(a) American students. We are leaders of the Pilipino community who strive to be an active presence through service, who establish networking opportunities and collaborations, and who promote education and awareness of health issues in order to productively direct ourselves towards future goals in health professions.

"Friendship of the Pilipin@s"
Founded on April 6th, 1987, as a social gathering for Pilipin@s and Pilipin@-Americas to feel more comfortable on campus.
It has since grown to educating the community about the many aspects of Pilipin@ culture.
To retain Filipino language at UCSD, continue community outreach, promote Philippine Studies, preserve culture and language, and improve intergenerational relations.
General Body Meetings
Our efforts are focused on encouraging
students to learn the Tagalog languages
by promoting the Tagalog classes here on
UCSD.
We are also the host of the Filipino
Language Tables, where beginners and
native speakers alike can come together to
practice Tagalog in everyday conversation.

Workshops are much more casual, informal, and allow both board and members to have a mutual dialogue.
Topics covered are not necessarily about specific career paths but are aimed to explore the necessary skills and information related to the pre-health journey, such as:

From karaoke sing-alongs, board game destressors, dubstep yoga to late-night eating out, movie nights, and haunted trails: PUSH social events are meant to ensure that you take that much-needed study break to relax and have some fun.
Kamalayan Kollective is a political, people-centered, feminist organization that seeks to raise critical consciousness. We are a group of UCSD students and community members that aim to provide a progressive space for Pinays and allies. We understand the personal is inherently political, and the political as deeply personal. Thus, we seek to empower and create change through acts of resistance and acts of love.
