Beastie/Snake-this symbolizes the fear and something that the little kids and some of the little boys were scared of
Conch- represented something the boys used so that they could talk without getting interrupted and it was also used to call meetings

Main Events /Summary
- Ralph believes that things are getting worse than it was in the beginning
- Ralph holds a meeting where he tells all the boys that the fire has to be on at all times and the fire can only be on the mountain no where else
- During this Chapter Ralph reveals that he thinks Piggy is not a person who can be a leader but he thinks that Piggy is brainy and can think really fast which he himself can not do.
- Ralph also reveals that three shelters have been built but they are not strong enough to with stand rain
- The boys were interrupting each other especially Piggy and Jack
- At the end of the chapter when Ralph put the conch down to show that the meeting ended Jack took the conch and called the little boys crybabies because they believe in the Monster which is not even real and called them out that they don't work and just play all day
- Phil, a littlun had a dream that things from trees were attacking him and when he woke up he saw the beast in the tree. The boys decided that they think the beastie might be a ghost so they all took a vote on whether they think ghosts are on the island or real at all. During the assembly Jack wasn't following the rules he interrupted Piggy while he was talking and when Ralph told him to be quiet Jack said he can't boss him around because even though he is chief he doesn't know how to sing or hunt which shows his jealousy towards Ralph.
