MY OPINION

It was hard for me to read. It jumped from future and past and the vocabulary was extremely advanced. Even when I consulted with my parents they had a hard time as well. I also had a hard time grasping that our founding fathers and their allies were so vicious.

Washington's Confession

  • Washington learns manners
  • brother marries a Ann Fairfax (rich family)
  • French build forts and he is sent to send message
  • disobeys orders and attacks French and his Indian allies brutally murder French
  • signs a contract not knowing that it "confessed" to murder

Lafayette's Sword

If these things never happened the revolution might not have happened and we could still be ruled by a king or queen. We would have different customs, religions, and we would be taught different things in school.

Hannah's Escape

  • insurgent group rebel against America (Shays's rebels)
  • attack on Springfield armory
  • 80% of the people fight against taxes
  • Constitution was created to replace The Articles of Confederation
  • Shays dies poor and even sold a famous ceremonial sword given to him by Lafayette.

"Isabella's Pigs"

  • Native Americans invade Haverhill capturing Hannah Dustin
  • Hannah escapes her captors by cutting off their heads
  • Ann Hutchinson teaches people that it doesn't matter what you do you will still be saved by god
  • Governor gets mad and kicks her out

Why I think it was written

  • there were many wars over land
  • Isabella becomes queen
  • Columbus sets sail with a ship full of pigs, dogs, and horses on Isabella's demand
  • other men come and get lost on many expeditions but never claim any land
