Traditions and Reasons for Prayer

  • The word "Amidah" means standing.
  • The Amidah is a Central Prayer in Judaism.
  • The First three blessings of the Amidah (part of the first section) mention the Patriarchs and PRAISE God.
  • The Middle Section requests things from God.
  • The Final Section thanks God for all he has done.
  • Prayer is used to include awareness of God.
  • Prayer shouldn't be mindless/Proper mindset is vital.
