Why I chose this topic?
I chose this topic because I felt it was more interesting than other topics such as, why your parents should read the outsiders. Bullying is a real problem in our schools and kids are being hurt emotionally and physically.

GREASER OR SOC
If I had a choice to be either a Greaser or Soc, I’d rather be a Greaser. The reason I would be a Greaser is because their the ones that look out for each other. They treat their friends like family members. Johnny killed Bob when he threw Ponyboy into the bird bath for insulting the Socs. Johnny knew that Ponyboy couldn't swim so he saved him. The Greasers don't put up with the Socs bullying them when their either drunk or teasing. Some other reasons why I’d rather not be a soc is because they include Bob, Randy and Paul (who was Darrys old friend in high school) because they are ruthless and annoying. And I wouldn’t want to be a Soc because they drink a lot and act silly infront of the girls. Like when Bob wanted to drive Cherry and Marcia home and was putting down the Greasers calling them Trash cans with long greasy hair that makes the Socs look bad to the girls. Socs are also bullies that jump Greasers who are smaller and weaker than them, such as Ponyboy and Johnny. Greasers are also very kind and caring people who enjoy drive ins and writing poetry, like Ponyboy does. Final reason I would want to be a Greaser is because we'd be the winners of the big fight at the rumble and show the Socs once and for all what we're really made of. Hopefully, they would then stop the bullying. I loved the book and would recommend it to every young person to read it.
Did you know that this film was made over 20 years ago and has some very famous actors such as Tom Cruise , Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon most of these famous actors are still making great movies today ..Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible series . Matt Dillon in Takers . Patrick Swayze died in 2009 but made great movies like Dirty Dancing and Ghost ..

INTRODUCTION
The Outsiders is a novel based on a true story about two groups, the Greasers and the socs. This novel inspires the reader to imagine what life was like in 50 and 60's in the streets of Oklahoma. This novel will show you how one heroic boy can make a difference and stand up to lives in danger. It will truly touch the hearts of the young readers.
