-The wife of Bath lives up to her expectations in society because she is not good looking, but she is rich so the "gets around" because of it.
Physical Description
"Easily on an ambling horse she sat." (Pg.109)
"She had gap-teeth, set widely, truth to say." (Pg.109)
"A worthy woman all her life." (Pg.109)
-Her greatest deadly sins are Lust and Greed
-Her greatest virtue is kindness
"Her kerchiefs were of finely woven ground;" (Pg.109)
"Bold was her face, handsome, and red in hue." (Pg.109)
- She rode a horse so she has a money
- She has a wide body frame so back then that shows wealth in food
- She is sleazy but wealthy
-Chaucer's purpose in making this character is to mock the behavior of the rich class. Even though the wife of Bath is very unattractive, she has 5 husbands just because of the fact that she is wealthy
