Use the hollow out technique to create a whistle that works.

requirements
- Rough Draft (detailed drawing, what is it?, color, ug/g, dimensions)
- Roughly be 4"x3" in size
- Must fully whistle
- Outside must be sculpted into something where the form directly connects with the whistle's form &/or it's sound.

history
1. Using a solid ball of clay, shape into
main whistle form.
2. Allow to dry loosely covered overnight.
3. Cut ball in half with wire.
4. Hollow out the inside leaving walls 1/4" thick
and removing excess clay from walls & inside.
5. Slip & score together.
6. Mend the seam with plastic clay or
coil of clay.
7. Use popsicle stick to make mouth opening
(refer to diagram & video)
8. Use rounded/pointed stick to create aperture opening.
**Work on each of these openings until you get a whistle sound.**
9. Sculpt & add to the form to complete the whistle.
The clay whistle can be traced back to the early Egyptians, Asia, South America in Mayan and Inca cultures, just to name a few.
