Population was a significant change that occurred in New York after Ellis Island was opened.

Before Ellis Island opened, the population in New York was about 1,515,301.

After Ellis Island opened in 1892, this number expanded to 3,437,202 within 8 years. The population in New York doubled after Ellis Island opened.

Conclusion

The largest spike of immigrants that migrated to Ellis Island occurred in 1907 with nearly over 1 million people.
