Biographical Context
- Fitzgerald used many experiences from his own life to write his novels.
- Fitzgerald had attended lost of parties while visiting Long Island
- He attended an Ivy League, much like Nick
- He has many similarities between himself and Gatsby
- He met Zelda while stationed in the army
- He spent his whole life trying to prove himself to Zelda
- Zelda, like Daisy, represented everything he wanted in a women but was completely wrong for him.

- In 1917, Joined the army.
- Met Zelda while stationed at Montgomery Alabama
- Zelda and Fitzgerald were engaged then broken up then reengaged when he publishes The Side of Paradise.
