The government has made it clear that doctors do not have to go against their beliefs and assist a patient in suicide, but they must refer the patient to a doctor who is willing if they are not.

Can Just Anybody Commit Doctor Assisted Suicide?
As of April 14, only adults that fully understand their situation, both emotionally and mentally could make this decision. They have to be quickly getting sicker with no hope of a cure, and the outcome has to be death. They must be suffering 'intolerably' and their condition must be 'severe'.
