Initial Requirements for Membership
If a complete application is received on time with all supporting documentation, you will be granted an interview with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Step 1
Attend Rush and submit a completed application
Express interest in our organization and meet all aforementioned initial requirements
If interested in Delta, we suggest that you begin saving, as pursuing membership could run between $1,500 and $2,000
- Express your interest in our organization
- Complete 24 credit hours at a University
(Sophomore status)
- Official Transcript with proof of credit hours and GPA from the university you are currently enrolled in.
- Have a GPA of AT LEAST 2.75
- MUST attend Rush
- Proof of consistent community service/involvement
- Completed Application

- 1 from a financial member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
- 1 demonstrating community service
- 1 from a Professor/teacher/advisor/community leader, etc

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University.

Delta Sigma Theta is a private, non-profit organization that is founded on Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service as well as Christian principles
The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women's Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 1913.
Delta Sigma Theta was later incorporated in 1930.
A sisterhood of more than 275,000 predominately Black college-educated women, the Sorority currently has over 1000 chapters located in the United States, Japan (Tokyo & Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea.
