Highly influential in the decision making process of gun laws. Usually lobbies floods congress with a huge amount of info to persuade them as to why gun laws should be off the government agenda.

Congress passes many acts that impacts the way interest groups, such as the NRA, can work. In some cases this can cause a lot of red tape to come into play restricting what they can and can't do. One example of an act that congress has passed is the gun control act of 1968, which prevents unlawful use of firearms and explosives. Congress can also block initiatives making it harder on these interest groups.
Congress approves or voids budget requests made. Playing a factor in how much funding they get. Congress also passes laws that make it easier for gun owners to buy and use firearms.
