More people are prone to believing facts than they are to opinions. Many people will find a piece more scholarly and persuasive than a piece with the authors bias. The reading might not havethe same bias as the reader, therefore the purpose of the piece will not reach out to the reader. If the author uses facts and support for their arguement, they are more likely to be heard.
