How have Greek and Roman myths survived in today's culture?

Greek and Roman myths have survived in today's culture because of stories and artifacts being passed down through many generations.

Hercules by

Sara Bareilles

The Percy Jackson series mentions many names from Greek mythology, as well as many recreated myths based on real Greek myths. Percy Jackson is like Perseus, they are both demigods, they both killed Medusa, they both ride a Pegasus, and they are both born from one of the three major Greek gods.

The song Hercules by Sara Bareilles is about feeling broken and asking for help, and Sara needed a strong image for the song, so she wrote about the hero, Hercules.
