Got his first job at the age of 12 at The Regas
Moved to Fort Wayne Indiana with his dad at 15 years old
Where he got a job at the Hobby House Resturant
In the 1950's He met Col. Sanders (the founder of KFC) and started helping him get better sales and to improve business
Then in 1968 sold his shares of KFC back to Col. Sanders.....
And in 1969 opened the frist Wendy's in Columbus Ohio
In 1982 Dave ceased his day to day operations at Wendys. But in 1985 he was put back in to a more active role.
In 1989 He became a TV spokesman for Wendys
In 1991 was inducted in to the junior Achievement US business hall of Fame and in 1993 Dave got his GED
And In 2002 Dave Thomas Died after a decade long battle with liver cancer at his home in Fort Lauderdale
