Wind Speed

The wind speed is the average speed of the

wind over a 10 minute period. It is caused by differences in air pressure. It is determined using a anemometer. The wind speed can affect a plane's flight.

Dew Point

The dew point is the point at which clouds are formed and the temperature at which the moisture in the air begins to condense. You use a hygrometer to find it. The dew point determines how dangerous a dry spell is for a grass or brush fire.

Air Pressure

Air pressure is the force exerted onto a surface or object by the weight of air. To predict the weather with air pressure, you use a barometer. Air pressure decreases with altitude, so The higher you go, the less air pressure you have.

Temperature

Precipitation

Temperature is the measure of heat energy. If the temperature is below 32 degrees, the precipitation could be snow, hail, or sleet and if it is above this temperature, the precipitation will probably be rain or now precipitation at all. You measure it with a thermometer.

Precipitation is the liquid that falls from the sky that can fall in the form of snow, rain, sleet, hail, and more. You use a rain gauge to see how much precipitation has fallen and You can use a thermometer to find out what type of precipitation. If it is below 32 degrees F and there is precipitation, it will probably be sleet, hail, or snow instead of rain.

Relative Humidity

The relative humidity is the amount of moisture in the air. You measure it with a sling phychrometer. It is basically two thermometers attached and one has a little piece of cotton and you just sling it around. It is written as a percentage of the amount of water vapor in the air needed for saturation to happen.

Clouds

Clouds are a visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the sky. The different clouds are cirrus, cirrostratus, cirrocumulus, alto cumulus, alto stratus, stratocumulus, stratus, nimbostratus, cumulus, and cumulonimbus. To predict the weather with clouds, you just figure out what type of cloud it is, like Cumulonimbus Clouds bring hail, strong wind, thunder and lightning
