My father was born as a result of an extramarital affair with an unknown person. With that being said, if he was religious he most likely needed more guidance.

My father's mother was mentally disturbed. I never had the pleasure of meeting her. From what I am to understand from conversations with my father's widow she was born and raised Catholic. Later in life she became a Wiccan High Priestess, practiced numerologist, astrologist, and

palmistry.

My grandfather or Papi (a shortened version of pappouli which is Greek for grandfather), was born in the US and raised Greek Orthodox. He was my favourite person in existence and played a huge part in raising me. His death was the major influence in my decision to become a physician. His father came from what is now Turkey (was Greece prior to the Greco-Turkish War) and was a very strict man. His mother was French-Canadian and converted to Greek Orthodox, as was customary. They were a fairly religious family who went to church every Sunday. As he got older and had a family of his own, he became fairly agnostic.

My grandmother was born in the U.S. and raised Greek Orthodox. Before she could attend "American School" she had to attend "Greek School". She wasn't allowed to speak English in the house. Her family went to church every Sunday and were a big part of the local Greek community. As she got older she became agnostic.

My father was raised agnostic and spent little to no time in church. As he became older he leaned more towards the side of atheist.

My mother and two brothers were raised Greek Orthodox. They went to church infrequently, mainly on Agape, Greek Easter, & Christmas and for any Greek Festivals. Her parents didn't discuss God in the house, neither was there prayer.

I was raised agnostic by my mother, my maternal grandmother, and maternal grandfather. I was taken to the Greek Orthodox church only on Greek Easter and for the yearly Greek Festival in Daytona Beach. I spent my young teenage years searching for an appropriate religious outlet but soon realized nothing fit me because I was, in my heart, atheist. I came out of the atheist 'closet' at the tender age of 27 to the chagrin of my family.
