Treaty of Utrecht
The Treaty of Utrecht was also called the Treaty of peace and friendship.
Relationships during the Treaty of Utrecht
- An agreement between Britian and France concluded 11th April 1713 at Utrecht in the Netherlands
- Triple Alliance (1717) was formed with France and Holland to confirm the Treaty of Utrecht
- In 1718 Austria joined and it was expanded to the Quadruple Alliance against Spain to maintain the peace of Europe

- Britain was awarded the contract - the right to import black slaves into America for 30 years
- Treaty France had to acknowledge the succession in England and Austria
- The Treaty signaficantly contributed to the adaption of North America
- Just like anniversary of Treaty of Utrecht, the 300th anniversary of Treaty of Portsmouth was celebrated.
- By signing this Treaty, France and Britain agreed to stop fighting
- After ending the war with the French, the British wanted to continue to explore their territory
- To help gain more land, the British needed to improve relationships with First Nations, Acadia
- French and the Wabanaki confederacy had an agreement to fight against the British
- Wabanaki agreed to stop attacks on British, allow further arguments to be decided by British governments

Treaty of Porthsmouth
- Treaty of Utrecht brought a time of peace which is called Second Hundred Years War (1689) between France and Britain
- The Treaty enforced the Treaties of (1697), (1700) that Spanish and French crowns should never be united
