How to Use Excel

Open Excel by clicking on the Excel icon in the dock.

Click on one of the cells on Excel and then write what you need to write.

To format the writing, highlight the text and click on toolbox on the top of Excel and press the big A to change color.

To change the width of a column of cells you drag the edge of the box with the letters on right or left.

Write in, for example Monday in a cell then press the right corner on one of the cells and pull down. Now you will get all the days of the week.

To be able to get one row of cells with no lines in between you need to highlight the row you want and then go on your formatting palette and then to Alignment and Spacing and then press the little box next to Merge cells so it goes blue.

To add color to your cell you highlight the part you want to be colored go on toolbox, Borders and Shading and then the Fill color button on the bottom.

To find the average of a series of numbers, you insert =AVERAGE into the cell below all the numbers, without clicking enter you then highlight then numbers.

To create a line/column/XY scatter graph you need highlight the information, go to Chats at the over the row with letters on. Choose one of the charts and click on it.

To lable the axis you need to go on your formatting palette and go on Chart options and then you can write your title and both axis.

To decide the scale in the axis you double click on the numbers on the axis and go to Scale and then choose what you want

To change the color of lines, on the graph, you click on them once and then you go on your formatting palette and then on Chart style and then choose what color you want your lines to be.

Copy and paste the graph to word you click on the graph and then go on Edit. Copy, then open Word and go on Edit, Paste.

To check the spelling you need to go on Tools and then on Spelling

To go on Print Preview, you go on File, Print and on the bottom left corner you press Preview

To Save you go on File, Save.
