Magellan's expedition consisted of multinational crew. Even thou was a spanish expedition, Magellan's crew consisted of many different cultures. Spaniards and Portuguese made the majority of sailors, but the voyage also was made up of mariners from Greece, Sicily, England, France, and even Northern Africa.

Ferdinand did a lot of studying texts on cartography, astronomy, and celestial navigation. He also studied at Queen Lenora's school of Lagos Lisbon. He slso went to Walled Lake Consolidated School, and studied map making.

On September 1519 Magellan and his crew sailed from Spain, across the Atlantic ocean, back then known as the oceans sea. Him and his men reached south america approxemitly

Ferdinand Magellan married maria caldera Beatriz Barosa(1517-1521), and had two kids, named Carlos de Magal haces, and Rodrigo de Magal haces.

Magellan's voyage was sparked by a treaty between Spain and Portugal. Magellan originally launched his journey or expedition in the thinking of finding a western route of precious spices like cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. But the spanish wanted to discover the alternate path because of 1494's Treaty of Tordesillas, a decree from Pope Alexander VI that has still divided the world in half between the Spanish and the Portuguese.

Ferdinand Magellan's parents were Dom Ruy Magelan and Donha Alda de Mesquite. The Magellans were of noble blood, But had little money , or power.

From 1480-1521 Ferdinand Magellan was exploring all over the earth. He set out from Spain in 1519, and sailed with five ships, to discover the western route to the Spice Islands. He discovered a new route called the straight of Magellan. And Ferdinand became the first european to cross the pacific ocean.

I can compare Magellan to the present day circumnavigator Jessica Watson, she was 11 years old when she first heard about the story of Jesse Martin, the 18-year-old when 1999 became the youngest person to complete a non-stop, so circumnavigation of the globe. The story stuck with her, and she wanted to Indy do the same thing at age of 13. Jessica Watson's trip was controversy all before it began, with many critics debating "how young is to young" she was too inexperienced, too immature, and too young to do something so dangerous, they claimed. During the sea trial her sailboat parentheses Ella's pink lady parentheses collided with a 63 ton, 738 foot ball carrier, which resulted in a broken mast that she had to tend to before her big and official launch. Having dealt with the problem successfully and confidently she didn't give up. However he wasn't smooth sailing after the first collision either, she experienced a serious Atlantic storm with four knock downs and one night, wins over 75 kn, and waves of 15 m and higher. But on March 15, 2010 after selling for 210 days straight, Jessica Watson became the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe solo, undecided, and nonstop. She completed her circumnavigation when she landed in Sydney Harbour three days before her 17th birthday, and yes she did this at the age of 16. Would you at the age of 13 or 14 plan an expedition to circumnavigate the globe?

How ever people saw Ferdinand Magellan only receives partial credit for the journey of the circumnavigate navigation, because he actually died at the end before the mission ever finished, and reached the Spice Islands.

Ferdinand Magellan was Born in 1480, in Sabrosa, Portugal.

Ferdinand and his brothers and sister, had to help the tenants(people who rented and farmed the land) raise the animals and harvest the crops.

The trip or journey was so long and dangerous, that only one ship actually returned three years latter. Ferdinand was killed durring battle on the voyage. But his expedition of circling the globe was recogised was remembered and will be for lots of time to come.

Ferdinand Magellan has changed are life today, because if he had never pored all that hard work into map making, navigation, etc,it would have either been way latter, after Magellan's time, that someone would be brave enough to try to circumnavigate the globe. Also maybe if Magellan never took the risk, maybe there's a possibility know one would have done it. And we'd be to scared to transport anything to other countries like we do today.

Ferdinand's brother (named Diago de Sousa-a name he took from his wealthy grandmother, named Isabelle Magellan). Magellan also had there named Durante de Sousa, and a sister named Isabel.

His family owned cows, sheep, hogs, goats, fields of wheat rye, corn, and vineyards full of grapes.

Ferdinand went to school at a monastery. Both parents died when he was just ten years old. When he was twelve, him and his cousin(Francisco Serrano) who is the same age, were sent to live at the court of Queen Lenora and John II of Portugal.

Ferdinand's dad was a portuguese nobleman and owned lots of land. He was also a sheriff, an honorary position awarded for his distinguished service to the crown.
