The theme of this book is if any of your loved ones go missing, they are more important than a game. In this book, it was really tough for Amy to get over the fact that her parents had died, but she still moved on with her life.

39 Clues Book 6-In Too Deep

By: Jude Watson

Climax

The turning point of this story was when Dan found the letters RCH in an old mine. This was important because it could lead to what happened to their family during the hunt. The person whose initials were RCH had originally helped Amy and Dan's side of the hunt by exploring various places near Jakarta. Now they had to figure out if they were really on who they thought was their mom and dad's side of the family, or if they could be on RCH's side of the family.

Point of view

This story's point of view was in 3rd person. The story is in 3rd person because there was a narrator who was using words like she, he, Dan, and Amy instead of using words like I and me.

Rising Actions

In this book, there were many actions happening before the climax. Some of them were:

~Dan and Amy are almost sunk into the water by a couple of people in the 39 Clues Hunt.

~ Irina Spasky, who was hired by Isabel, traps Amy in a room and tells her that there is a potential clue in New York City.

~Uncle Shep insists that Amy, Dan, and Nellie can fly to Coober to see if there are any clues.

~The crew goes into a house that belongs to a friend of Uncle Shep's to see where any clues are.

Falling Actions

In this book, there were some events that happened before the resolution but after the climax. They were:

~Isabel tried to trap Amy and Dan by dropping snakes beside of them.

~Amy and Dan decided to go to Java to see if they could retrace their parent's footsteps.

~Nellie decides to take the pair to the islands and volcanoes of Java.

Resolution

When following their parent's trail on their trip for the hunt, Amy, Dan, and Nellie decide to go to the island of Java to look for clues. After Nellie left, Amy and Dan were sure they had followed their parent's footsteps. Amy and Dan thought that they were going to meet Robert Cahill Henderson, who was RCH, but ended up crossing paths with another Cahill cousin, Alistar. They figured out that Robert was very close to finding the 39 clues, but failed. However, Amy figured out why their parents had died. Amy had worn a nightgown with koalas on them, and Isabel had set the fire. Isabel had figured out that Amy's mom and dad brought back something from Australia because they had traced Robert Cahill Henderson's path, like Amy and Dan did. Amy and Dan didn't figure out what family branch they were in, but they did find out what had happened to their parents during the fire.

Introduction

Conflict

In 39 Clues In Too Deep, there are 3 main characters who play key roles in this book. They are Amy and Dan Cahill, and their Uncle Shep. This book takes place in Australia, where Amy and Dan have been searching for clues. Their only contact is Uncle Shep, who is currently taking care of them. There are 2 main conflicts in this book. One of them is about Amy and Dan's parents. Amy has been really upset that she hasn't gotten to see them after an incident happening earlier in their search. Everybody believes that they died in a tragic fire. The other conflict is a very tough one for Amy and Dan to resolve. A woman named Isabel Kabra, who is a mom of 2 other kids going against Amy and Dan in the hunt, has tried to do everything she can to stop Amy and Dan from getting all of the clues.

The main conflicts in this book were both internal and external. The conflict about Amy and Dan's parents dying is internal because it is their choice to be depressed about it. The conflict about Isabel trying to stop them is external because they are trying to fight against an outside force who is trying to stop them.
