It can be sunny, foggy and rainy in Acadia. The average snow fall is 60 inches and the average rainfall is 46.11 inches. Temperatures in the park range:

  • Spring is 30-70 degrees F.
  • Summer is 45-90 degrees F.
  • Fall is 30-70 degrees F .
  • Winter is 14-35 degrees F.

Fun facts

Peregrin falcons are the fastest animals on the planet, reaching speeds of over 200 miles per hour. The highest speed recorded was 242 miles per hour.

Endangered animals

The biomes in Acadia are the Deciduous forest and the Marine biome.

Predator vs. Prey relationship

The grey wolf, bald eagle and peregrin falcon are endangered animals in the park.

The Wolves eat the Elk so they don't over-populate and eat all the plants, making them starve and die.

George B. Dorr

The people who founded Acadia National Park were George B. Dorr, Charles Eliot and Eliot’s father, Charles W. It was finished on February 26, 1919 (Which was called Lafayette until January 19, 1929).
