- When King was killed he wasn't the only one to die in the Lorraine Motel in Memphis on April 4, 1968
- King’s last days were definitely spent well. He spent his last days in Memphis, Tennessee.
- Lorraine Bailey ( the one the hotel was named after) when she saw him get shot she had a heart attack.
- When he was in Tennessee he was working for the justice of for union workers. The day before his assassination he gave his famous “I have been to the mountaintop ” speech.

Nobel Peace Prize
- “Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results. Nations have frequently won their independence in battle. But in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace.” is one of the quotes he said about how peace is stronger than violence.
- King won a nobel peace prize in 1964 for encouraging to remain positive and peaceful.
- This proves that he wanted it to be peaceful because if they attacked them and started a war then their would have been forever resentment against the opposing side and all would remain the same
- He deserves this for his nonviolent resistance that he kept throughout the whole time of racial injustice

- At 35 years of age he was the youngest colored person to receive the award and the 3rd african-american to receive one
- His name was originally Michael, not Martin. His father was also Michael King, hence why he was originally named Michael King Jr.

- King always encouraged that they don’t go to war and remain peaceful
- It’s a great way to learn to work together instead of against each other and that violence actually doesn't solve anything
- This contributes to the civil rights movement because it shows how everyone is equal and everyone even through skin color is still the same.
