Social Activities
Description
- There are hundreds of clubs ranging from chess club, ski club to computer club and Robotics club
- Carnegie Mellon has 9 different sports such as basketball, soccer, and golf
- They have 17 varsity teams
- CMU also has other events such as guest speakers and fun activities for students.
On Campus Living
Carnegie Mellon is a private co-ed school. It main campus is located 3 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Its campus is over 140 acres and the school has 6,237 undergrads enrolled and 7,048 post-grads.
Carnegie Mellon has 13 dorm buildings available. With hundreds of dorms of varying types. Their dorms include single gender residences, coeducational residence, apartments, suites, and fraternity and sorority housing. First year residents are garunteed first year housing and are required to live in university housing.

First called Carnegie Technical School, it was founded in 1900 by Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie technical school then became Carnegie Institute of Technology and began to grant degrees. Then in 1967 they combined with Mellon Institute of Industrial Research thus creating Carnegie Mellon University. Carnegie Mellon has been famous for their schools of technology and engineering since their founding.
My Interests
I am interested in computer science, robotics, and electrical and computer engineering.
Career Services
Carnegie Mellon has a very high job placement rate for computer science majors. In 2015 out of 192 graduates 164 graduates got employed right out if college. These graduates were employed at companies such as Facebook, eBay and Google. For Electrical and computer engineering graduates. in 2015 out of 190 graduates 139 of them were employed out of college. They were employed at companies such as Amazon, Apple and Intel.
