Feudal Responsibilities
The Differences and similarities Between Knights and Samurai
The English/British Warriors
Both
Weaponry
Knights used a wide variety of weapons, like maces, spears, swords, and lances.
Both were very skilled in using their weapons and were very deadly in battle.
Samurai used swords only, one being longer, called a katana, and one shorter sword.
Religion was a way of life for both knight and samurai, they should never disobey their religions.
The majority of knights were Christian because they believe in whatever their king believed in.
The samurai had many religions, such as Shintoism, Daoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. These religions taught them discipline and never to fear death.
Knights
Samurai
Armour
Both wore armor that covered the most important body parts.
Knights wore chain mail, which were metal rings strung together, but they switched to plated armor later on. Both kinds of
armor were
heavy.
Samurai wore leather armor, which was very light and was made partly of bamboo, however, some of the body was still exposed to the enemy.. The samurai armor was slightly more decorative.
Samurai
Knights
Samurai could kill citizens if they felt offended by them
Knights were not allowed to kill civilians no matter what happened
Both were to protect lower classes and their lords, and had to be more loyal to the lords more than to their family.
In conclusion I think knights and samuaris are both alike and different in there own way.
