Funbrella by JISA & Co.
Product
The Funbrella is an enhanced umbrella designed to offer full-body protection from the rain. Using the basis of a traditional umbrella, the Funbrella has a transparent PEVA film that extends down from the base of the umbrella and covers you.
Market
Because of global warming and the gradual destruction of the ozone layer, we've seen an increase in rain, widening the market for more total rain protection. With the colder weather coming down from the melting snowcaps, we'll need better, more comprehensive protection.
- The bulk umbrellas sell for $3.49 a piece from Wholesalemart, the PEVA material can be bought for $1.95 each, and thread can be purchased industrial size for $2.49 for a total material cost of $7.93
- With labor in mind, we have decided to market the Funbrella for $24.95, which leaves about a $15 profit.
So far we have sold 40,000 units in Walmart, for a total gain of $1,000,000 and a net profit of $600,000.
- The Funbrella will appeal to all people who hate being wet, and will protect them not only from rain, but from mud, wind, and insects.
- The Funbrella is see through so you can still look fashionable walking down the street, and have clear vision of where you are going.
Because we can currently offer only one size of the Funbrella, our target will be adult males and females
