What is human nature ?
I won't have to proof that
humans have the potential for evil.
A society's wealth depends on
effective collaboration
Schadenfreude
That is called altruism. Now you could argue, that there is no such thing as altruism. Even giving the beggar a dollar may be cold-blooded exchange: The joy of helping someone for the effort of actually doing so.
But even with that argument at hand: The mere fact, that we can enjoy increasing someone else's happiness for the sake of itself, proofs that we can be good.
That is human nature. Even with the dictate of society to help each other, we would.
Babies help each other, before they could learn that it's expected from them.
Humans are hardwired to enjoy the happiness of others. Science proofs that, and anyone can find experiences in their own life where they simply got enjoyment of seeing other people happy.
Clearly, humans have the potential for
doing evil things.
Clearly, humans have the
potential for doing good.
Clearly, humans have
the potential for both.
How can you make sure that everyone in the society contributes ?
How can you make anyone do anything ?
