All About Mother Teresa!
A bit of info on Mother Teresa
The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Mother Teresa in 1979 because of her help towards those that are less fortunate in India.
- born on August 26th 1910 in Skopje,Macedonia
- she was a Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary who lived most her life in India
- she went to India mostly to help the foster/homeless children, but she also was a teacher in Calcutta now known as Kolkata
DeClining health and death
- 1983: Mother Teresa suffered a heart attack in Rome
- After suffering a second heart attack she received an artificial pacemaker
- 1991: While still battling Pneumonia in Mexico, she was suffering more heart problems
- She decided to resign as the head of Missionaries of Charity but the sisters voted her back in
- 1996: In April she fell and broke her collar bone
- In August she suffered form Malaria and had a failure of the left heart ventricle
- she had a heart surgery but it was obvious her heart wasn't cooperating
- a priest was ordered to perform an exorcism on her because they thought she might be under the attack of demons
- 1997: In March she stepped down as the head of Missionaries of Charity
- Mother Teresa passed away on September 5th 1997
