Mila

The main character. She was raised by dolphins. A group of people found Mila and took her to a research facility where she was taught basic human skills.

Major Problems

Doctor Beck

Dr. Beck is teaching Mila basic human skills. She is Justin's mom.

Mila was discovered living with dolphins. Mila was involved in a plane crash when she was four years old when a group of dolphins rescued her and raised her as one of their own. She has been living with the dolphins for approximately thirteen years before she was discovered. She was placed in a research facilty to learn basic human skills. Mila is having to chose between living with the dolphins or living and functioning as a normal human with a family. The major problem for Mila is the dilemma between going back and living with the dolphins or staying with new family she has bonded with.

Shay

A girl in the research facility being taught basic skills. Shay was kept locked up by her parents

Mila was rescued on an island near Cuba (Florida Keys and Caribbean). This story dose not really tells you where it takes place but it was written in 1996.

Cause and Effect

The cause and effect in this book is that Mali was raised by dolphins and dose not know how to act like a human. She has to learn and when she dose she dose not like some of the human ways. Like the rules and the the walls and the door and the way you have to do things. she feels like a outsider. she says when a dolphin dose something bad they kicked them out and when they lock doors she feels like she is and outsider.

• Mali gets a letter from her father and she is upset because she dose not know who he is. They keep telling her that he is her family and she says the doctors are her family and the dolphins.
• every time she see water Mali will go in the water even if she is not supposed to.
• Mali wants to help shay but shay is not wanting help all she dose is sit there and lesson to what is going on and what is said.

• Mali got really sick from being in the water so she knows she cant go in the water every time she see the water.

Mila was lost after a plane crash when she was just a litler girl. Mila has been care for by dolphins. When she was found spotted on island off Cuba, she seems hardly human to her rescuers. They take her to the child study center and help her what it is like to be human. The more she learns about what is like to be human she dose not like it the wall and the doors and the rules she is not liking it more and more. Mali is missing her life with the dolphins and wants to go back to be living with them
