GOLF

Golf began to develop in Kazakhstan in the early 1990s. Although golf is a relatively new sport in Kazakhstan, the first golf club in Kazakhstan opened in 1995 in Almaty. Today, according to the Golf Federation, there are seven golf clubs in the country. Five of them meet international standards. There are two golf clubs in Almaty.

VOLLEYBALL

The first volleyball matches were held in Kazakhstan in the early 20th century, when Kazakhstan was part of the Soviet Union.

Gradually the popularity of volleyball grew in Kazakhstan and in 1954 the Volleyball Federation of Kazakhstan was established. Since then, volleyball has become one of the most favorite sports in the country and is developing at a professional level.

In the following years, Kazakh volleyball players continued to achieve notable success in international tournaments.

In 1913-1914 in Semipalatinsk appear the first Kazakh football teams: "Olympus", "Swallow", "Eaglets" and "Yarysh".

The famous Mukhtar Auezov played in "Yarysh". "Yarysh" was the first Kazakh team to play an international match. This team laid the foundation for the development of Kazakh football. After independence in 1992, the Football Federation of Kazakhstan was admitted to FIFA and AFC. In 2002 it decided to move from AFC to UEFA.

The official date of the birth of Kazakh basketball is considered to be 1926. It was in the summer of that year in Semipalatinsk the 1st Republican Trade Union Physical Culture Festival was held, the program of which included basketball.

The nationals were able to achieve the greatest success in 2019 - the women's team became the silver medalist of the Asian Cup.

After independence in 1992, the National Basketball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was admitted to FIBA and FIBA Asia.

The history of tennis in Kazakhstan began in the early 1990s. It was at this time that this sport began to develop actively in the republic. The first tennis courts were those in Almaty.

In 2000s tennis became even more popular in Kazakhstan due to the success of Kazakh tennis players in international competitions.

The National Tennis Union plays an important role in the development of tennis in Kazakhstan.
