THEMES

MAN AND THE NATURAL WORLD :

Nature is a beautiful siren in this poem, because it is not as quiet and warm, but rather scary and mysterious.

ISOLATION:

"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" is a lonely poem, for our speaker finds himself far away from any other human being.

SYMBOLISM

WOODS :

It is symbolic of the way that most people nowadays go through life – thinking only of themselves, being self-centered, and ignoring the mystery and the beauty of the nature that surrounds them.
