Definition
Some challenges that students face when it comes to outlining their topic sentence outline are
Challenges
Not knowing what to write
Some ways that the student can face those challenges are by:
- Staying off electronic devices to avoid time consuming distractions. (Social media platforms). Dedicate time to write the essay.
- Brainstorming/free-writing whatever comes to mind can help the writer have an idea on what to include on their essay. (Methods: Listing and Looping.)
- In order to have a organized and centered essay the writer must be well informed on their topic followed by proper research. (Clear and specific examples to support the main points.)
Solutions
The topic sentence outlining helps the student arrange their ideas, stay on track, and stay organized. Once the student has completed this, then the rest of the essay should be more easier to finish. It is important because the topic sentence outline is the backbone of this structure, it holds and connect everything together. Once you finish the outline you basically have your essay ready to go, just fill in the blanks.
