Battle of Kakamas was a batle between Germans and South Africa army forces. It took place on Febuary 4, 1915. It was a fight to control two river fords over Orange River. This battle was important because the african troops are able to hold off the Germans from taking the river

When Africa joined the war a lot of rebellion from European control started. During this part of the war african troops were not only fighting on their own land but served as reinforcements to the Europeans on the Middle East Front and the Western Front.

Battle of Passchendaele took place on the 31st of July in 1917. The British and France take the offensive side and launch an attack in Ypres. This battle was super significant because it was a battle where commanders didn't care about their men's lives at all.

Middle East

Nathan

The Gallipoli Campaign was from Febuary 1915 to January 1916. This battle was between the British and Russian soldiers and trying to control Turkey. To do this they fought with the Dardanelles. This battle was a naval and land battle and was significant because Britain lost and Turkey was able to hold their ground.

When the Middle East was put into war the main cause for it was the Ottoman Empire. In 1914 they declared war on France, Britain, and Russia. Fighting with Britain caused major problems both for the Britsh empires and the Ottoman empire. Trade and transportation were stopped because of the war and ultimately led to the decline of the economy.

The Mesopotamia Campaign was a battle between British and Indian troops and the Otto Turks. It was a tough battle because of the climate and a very tragic and long battle. This battle was significant because it led to Mesopotamia being owned by Britain and made the balance of the war uneasy.
