Evidence 2: The Hydra of Lerna

Head 1: Insecurity

Our hero had embarked in an adventure, determined to reach the land of University and defeat the 9 Headed Beast. While on his journey, Ruben approached one of the toughest part of the journey. In front of him laid a vast number of different paths, after studying the options he narrowed them down to two: The electronics path and the Programming path. After consulting with his allies: His friends and parents he came upon the conclusion that he should take the electronics path but a part in him didn't knew if he made the right choice .

While walking through the path, Ruben began feeling more confident in his decision that is until he met the first head of the hydra. The hydra stared at him for a while without saying a word as if the hydra was analyzing him, after a while the Hydra began to speak. He told Ruben that he didn't know if he made the right choice and that if he made the wrong one it could be a very costly mistake and he would have to begin again his journey. Ruben began to feel Insecure not knowing if he made the right call. This is exactly what the Hydra wanted, by preying on the weak nobody would feel confident in their path and wouldn't be able to pose a threat to him. Ruben thought about chaining paths but ultimately stuck to his guts and had confidence in his decision and continued moving forward.

Head 2: The Pandemic

After the encounter with the first head, Ruben continued his journey to get to the land of University, His encounter with the Head of Insecurity taught him how to be more confident in his decisions and to not let others influence his choice. Having been unsuccessful at stopping Ruben from ending his journey the dragon decided to unleash one of his most strongest heads: The pandemic head. Nearly arriving to the land of University, the second head made an appearance unleashing a virus which affected the whole world. This slowed Ruben down but didn't knock him out just yet, that is until he got infected with the disease. After he got infected he had to return home to his homeland to get treated by the disease, after a long battle he finally managed to overcome this disease. Leaving to get back on his journey he went to the local store to buy a mask which would lower the chances to get the virus, this would be way to continue his journey safely into the land of University. The Hydra heard about this and accepted that his second head had been unsuccessful in stopping Ruben from his journey deciding that it was time to take more serious actions.

Head 3: Isolation

After his encounter with the second Head Ruben continued his journey to get to the land of University, Many of his friends had been infected with the virus unleashed by the second head which left Ruben all alone during a big part of his journey to University. One day while walking in his journey, Ruben stumbled into the third head of the Hydra, this head was quiet and was staring right at him. Ruben tried to ignore the Hydra at first but it kept following him, After a while the head finally spoke, He told Ruben of all the fun activities Ruben had been to with his friends through out the years, making him remember all the fun and good times involving his friends. Ruben began to feel happy for a while but after some minutes began to feel depressed, he knew that the reality where does memories could happen again is gone and with the effects of the second head he wouldn't be able to see his friends for a while. This is exactly what the third head wanted to bring him into despair and making him feel all alone in his journey. Ruben nearly gave up but he knew he couldn't his friends wouldn't allow it, he must continue this journey through the very end and hope by the end he would be able to see his friends again.

Head 3: Isolation

After a long journey, Ruben finally arrived to University, Upon arriving he could tell that all the paths that he could take at the beginning leaded to different areas inside of the land, he could also tell that there were a lot of people in this area of the land something that Ruben at first didn't mind but through out the day would become a big problem for him. The Hydra having been unsuccessful in his previous attempts to stop Ruben from beating him, came up with a new idea to sabotage his plan. One evening while Ruben was walking, he encountered the fourth head of the Hydra, This head was more talkative and seemed more intense that the previous one's he had met. The Hydra began telling Ruben about how all people saw him, he saw that people thought was too skinny and laughed about his clothes, this deeply affected Ruben thinking all the people in the land laughed at him, this gave Ruben a new setback: Social Anxiety. For the following days Ruben would try to avoid people, sitting by himself and trying to speak the least amount as possible this made him sad thinking he wouldn't be able to make any friends here but this changed when a group of people sat down with him to work. Upon talking to this group of people he learned they shared a lot of common interests such as sports and hobbies, they told him to not pay attention to the Hydras comments, they also told him to not worry about what other people think of him only what he thinks of himself, this is something that deeply impacted Ruben's mindset for the future.

Head 4: Anxiety

Head 5: Failure

Lots of time had passed after his last encounter with the hydra, Ruben had began feeling a little at home in the land of University, In the land of University you are ranked according to your level you are in , As Ruben had only entered the land he was still in the first level of the ranking, it is said that people who overcome the last level are ready to face the outside world and become a strong warrior in life. Upon entering the first level Ruben was bombarded with knowledge and skills, he began training to get through this level, but he was not training hard enough and Ruben knew it. He taught because he had overcame the land of high school with ease he would not need to train as hard to beat the first level of this challenge, this couldn't be farther from the truth. Ruben entered the level feeling confident but upon entering he realized there were things he hadn't practiced enough of, and began to feel really nervous this feeling of anxiety got the better of him and he wasn't able to pass the level.

This was the lowest point of his recent years, he felt really stupid and this is what the Hydra wanted, he wanted him to be at his lowest and this way he would be easier to beat. Ruben knew that if he didn't pick up his game, he would not make it so he decided to not give up and continue training so that this experience wont happen again

Head 5: Failure

Head 6: Fear

After failing the test last time, Ruben had to begin getting his act together, he began training hard and with the help of a Teacher who guided him through this training he felt ready to face the next test and advance to the next level. He used all the confidence and skills he had learned through out his journey to calm himself down the day before the test.

The hydra not content with seeing him so calm decided it was time to unleash an attack onto our hero. The hydra approached Ruben and talked to him, The hydra told him how if he failed this next test he wouldn't be able to continue his journey, he told him how he felt he was unprepared and that he was most likely going to fail. The deeply troubled Ruben who on the day of the exam felt like puking, he was afraid, afraid he was going to fail, afraid this was the end of his journey. But this was not the end he remembered about the past encounters with the hydra, he knew how to overcome it and used this knowledge to calm himself down. In the end he was able to overcome this test and advance to the next level, making the hydra angry and confused at the same time.

After advancing to the next level, Ruben began getting more confident and began to advance through the stages with more ease. He was getting stronger and the Hydra knew that so it was time to act, The Hydra talked to the Test Masters, he convinced them with his persuasion skills to all move the test to the same day, this way the weak minded will collapse from the stress and he will be victorious, the test masters agreed fearing what might happened if they didn't, the Hydras plan was in motion.

Ruben heard about this and began getting stressed, it reached to a point where he was struggling to sleep because all he could think about was the tests. Ruben knew this wasn't good and needed to change something, he went to the lands psychiatrist, this person helped him taught him new ways to trained and calmed his nerves and taught him a new skill: Time management. With the help of the Psychiatrist he was now ready to take the test, he felt that at this point nothing could stand in his way.

Head 7: Stress

Having passed the last few hurdles set by the Hydra, Ruben was getting close to his final battle with the hydra and the hydra began to take more precautions to make sure this doesn't happen. The hydra devised a plan, If he couldn't break Ruben mentally and physically he had to do it emotionally so he began scheming a plan that would affect Ruben's emotions.

The Hydra decided it was time to fight rough, so he took Ruben's dog and decided to hide him where no one would find him. When Ruben returned to where he was staying he noticed that his dog was gone, freaked out he started looking all over for him around the land to no strike. Ruben began feeling sad, crying and having the feeling of loss fearing the worst had happened. This is exactly what the hydra wanted but while wasn't looking the dog escaped. After two days searching Ruben was ready to give up when all of a sudden his dog returned, Ruben was shocked and relived at the same time, it was one of the happiest moments in his recent life. This moment was a turning point in his journey, this was the point that he decided to confront the hydra for once and for all, as he didn't want incident like this or the past one to repeat again, but to do this Ruben had to endure one final challenge.

Head 8: Loss

Before facing the Hydra, Ruben had to prepare himself for the moment, this was the culmination of his journey, through out his journey to reach the land of university Ruben had encountered many problems. The hydras different attacks against Ruben had little to no effect now, he had gained skills, values and weapons to fight the hydra and he was ready to do so, or so he thought. Two nights before the final face off, Ruben met one of his friends and the land's shopping district, he told him about his plan and about all the adventures he had undergone to make it to here. His friend listened closely and after Ruben was done talking, his friend said a simple question "Do you feel ready?" This question may have seemed simple but to Ruben it really wasn't, He knew that there was no coming back and that this was it, this sent Ruben into a mental spiral. He began to feel stress and anxiety, his hands began shaking and so did his legs this was to much pressure and Ruben didn't know if he could handle it.

Moments after, Ruben remembered about what he had learned in the time of his journey, he had learned to beat anxiety, he had learned to master stress this little things wont beat him now. Ruben calmed himself down and was ready, he knew that he could beat the hydra and that no one will be able to stop him from doing so. This was the final battle and the end of journey, this was the moment he had been waiting for.
