OUTLINE

In what ways can our students work on the Andalusian heritage in English classes in the fifth grade? Propose the inclusion of specific aspects and the use of varied resources and procedures.

- What better to appreciate the land where you live: many reasons. Climate, people, food, way of life, customs, culture, different. We can contribute to grow the world.

- Learning a FL, CEFR. Importance of learning English.

- Only loving and appreciating the place and the way you live it is possible to love the rest. That means: EMPATHY, BEING TOLERANT.

- Legal framework back up this idea.

The period of concrete operations according to Piaget, is the improvement of the ability to think logically, in a constant change. These changes highlight social development, which in turn implies a decrease in the child's egocentrism.

- CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASSROOM: heterogeneous and special circumstances to take into account. Special needs. How to manage this situations: explained below.

- Any topic we teach in English about English culture can be related to Andalusian ones: schedules, sports, meals, animals, etc. When selecting EC, contents arise and KC will be developed and objectives achieved. 4 skills.

PROVIDE WITH EXAMPLES about how to do it (recipe, daily meals...).

- Work 4 skills through SLP. Activities, exercises, tasks. TBA (Nunan), PBL, DRAMATIZATION: Once upon a time...Andalusia by Alfonso Contreras Vilches. Reading Animation Week or Andalusia's Day. CC and LC.

RESOLUTION

- E-twinning project. Educational Routes?

- Penfriend. Sending letters about our customs and culture. Linking with SLP.

- The inclusion in classroom of any motivating tool, technique, instrument, strategy would help to learn any content (Andalusian heritage as well). Chroma key, interactive groups, kahoots, treasure hunts, quizzlets, stop motion, prezi, impress, strip comic generator, etc. Development od DC.

- Measures for the different levels and ss with special needs.

- EVALUATION: rubrics, checklist. Bear in mind teacher evaluation. HOW?

CONCLUSION

English is a wonderful tool to work on culture over all , as a way to work on Ansalusian heritage and work on the different competences and incorporate learning and knowledge technologies and innovative methodologies to deal with these cross-curricular aspects.
