In this presentation I will compare the male and female reproductive systems to a railroad system.
The scrotum is like the station building, it is exposed to open air and it contains many other parts of the system.
The testes are very similar to the platform of the train station. It is where people wait to board a train.
The epididymis is like the waiting rooms of a train station. It is were people wait just before departure.
The vas deferens is like the pathway from the station building to the platform. This is because the vas deferens connects the testes to the urethra.
The cowper's gland is like a safety barrier, because both things help to keep the urethra (train tracks) safe.
The seminal vesicle is like the luggage holder. If humans are like sperm, then their luggage is like the extra fluids in semen. Thus the luggage holder provides these extra fluids.
The prostate gland is like stores at a train station. Because it nourishes and feeds sperm, and sperm in this case are humans, humans are feed and nourished by stores.
The penis is like the tunnel of a railroad. This is because it contains the urethra.
Ejaculation is the departure of the train. This is when sperm/humans leave the station/system.
Testosterone is like the employees at a train station, because it stimulates development of the system.
The sperm are the humans in the train-station. They are both the component moved throughout the system.
Semen includes sperm and other fluids, thus semen is the people (sperm) and their luggage (fluids).
The female reproductive system will also be compared to a railway system.
The ovary is like the station building, it is where the egg starts its journey through the system. Humans start travel by railroad at the station building.
The egg is like a human passenger. Both will travel through the system and eventually leave the system.
Ovulation is like when the human goes from the station building, through a pathway, and onto the boarding platform.
The follicle is like a waiting room. A human (egg) spends a lot of time here before leaving the station building (ovary)
The fimbriae is much like a doorway, it is used to bring the egg (human) into the fallopian tube (hallway).
The fallopian tubes are like the pathway from the station building (ovary) to the platform (uterus).
The edometrium is like other passengers. This is because they leave the system through the railway (vagina) when the egg leaves during the menstrual cycle.
The uterus is like the platform. It is where the egg (human) will spend a lot of its time before exiting through the vagina (railway).
The cervix is like the train's loading station. It is the last point before leaving the platform (uterus) and entering the actual railway (vagina)
This analogy is to a railroad. Because this is the pathway that the passenger (egg) takes to leave the system.
The menstrual cycle is like the train schedule. It is the timing schedule used by the entire system.
Estrogen is like the train conductor. This is because the conductor advances the system and keeps it functioning.
