The day of the dead is an ancient tradition that we have been inheriting for a long time, but perhaps we know what its origin is, even the correct way to celebrate it, but many times we just get carried away by what people say, even falling into customs that have nothing to do with this special day, we even confuse it with religious and Anglo-Saxon beliefs. To know more about this subject, we must take refuge in the original customs and traditions that we know, but without forgetting what it really is, since many times we usually celebrate it by combining everything we believe it is, even without realizing it we can even celebrate " more than a day of the dead. " But this can vary according to people's beliefs, whether they want to hold a Halloween party or perform an altar to remember people who have already left and may even prefer to only perform a mass and prayers in their honor. The rugs are pure syncretism, as they are inspired by the pre-Hispanic traditions that are preserved until these days and also in the Catholic rites that the Spanish brought a few centuries ago.
These rugs are native to indigenous peoples in the state of Oaxaca, although in recent years, several states have wanted to preserve the tradition, so these works of art can be seen in public squares of cities such as Querétaro, Guanajuato, Zacatecas and in the Zocalo of the city of mexico.
The meaning behind these rugs is to welcome and pay tribute to those who have already died and began their journey to Mictlan. Those same beings, every November 1 and 2, cross into earthly life to visit their dear humans.
